“Collaborative Circles Driving Change in
Agri-Food”
The concept of collaborative circles has been in action for a little over a year now, and it’s working, according to Cultura’s Senior Vice President, Global Collaboration, Jeff Schreiner. These collaborative circles that have been put together so far include the top 8 to 10 leaders in their respective areas, and sometimes, that means competitors and partners, too. When these groups are brought together, they don’t have a specific agenda—their only job is to outline where the Agri-food industry is going and where it’s lacking.
Transforming the Biofuels Industry
One of the most advanced circles, Grown Above Ground Energy (GAGE),
addresses biofuels like ethanol, renewable diesel, and sustainable aviation fuels. Representatives from Cultura companies—Greenstone, Solentra, AgVision, and Tibersoft—are working alongside industry leaders to navigate opportunities created by the 2025 Clean Fuel Production Credit (US Code 45Z).
This tax credit incentivizes the use of domestic feedstocks, strengthening local
economies and U.S. agriculture while promoting sustainable energy. By
collaborating with startups and data providers, GAGE leveraged Tibersoft’s
expertise to integrate insights, enabling collective action.
“Up until now, these plants worked in silos,” says Jeff Schreiner, Cultura’s SVP of
Global Collaboration. “The group realized they could achieve more together.
These changes could increase profits and transform the biofuels sector.”

Introducing
Data Enriched Commodities (DEC)
Another circle focuses on Data Enriched Commodity (DEC) programs, enhancing agricultural products with attributes like sustainability practices, traceability, and producer identity. Led by Cultura and stakeholders including U.K.’s largest farmer, certifier Leaf, bankers, and Cultura companies Primetics and CORE, this initiative aims to drive transparency in the agri-food sector.
DEC programs offer significant benefits:
Traceability and transparency: Building consumer trust through detailed data on origins and ethical practices.
Supply chain efficiency: Reducing waste with real-time adjustments.
Fair pricing: Enabling premiums for verified sustainability and quality.
By voluntarily adopting DEC, the industry can drive innovation, foster collaboration, and meet growing consumer demands for transparency and sustainability.
Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
Cultura’s collaborative circles are redefining how the agriculture industry approaches challenges across food, feed, fiber, and fuel value chains. By driving innovation, transparency, and efficiency, Cultura is emerging as a collaborator, empowering the industry to modernize and scale sustainably.
