Tyler Bottoms joined AgVision in 2022 as Commercial Director and quickly expanded his role, taking on additional responsibilities as Operations Manager and P&L Leader as Founders Jose and Shelley Laracuente transitioned to retirement. By 2024, he advanced to the position of General Manager, where he continues to drive the company’s success.

AgVision has been a trusted leader in grain, ag retail, feed, fertilizer, and seed accounting and inventory management software for over 48 years. AgVision is part of the Cultura Technologies collaborative of companies.

Internal Collaboration Launches Growth

The enterprise/resource planning sector of the agriculture industry was a new challenge for me. Previously, I’d spent 14 years helping provide mission critical software for clients that was essential to keeping their businesses running. The transition to AgVision was an excellent opportunity to join a very successful company with 48 years of history as well as seeing the vision of Cultura to build and grow the business. The previous AgVision owners as well as the Cultura team answered all my questions, and I was especially excited to join a network to collaborate with other Cultura businesses and allow me to learn and continue growing in my new leadership role. I enjoy learning together on AI projects or small experiments. It’s fulfilling to me to introduce and connect groups and integrate third-party vendors that can make our industry better. I’ve also helped create industry challenge collaborative circles to better understand the market from a broader scope and encouraged collaborative efforts between the grain and oil seed companies within Cultura. Being part of Cultura allows AgVision immediate access to our fellow businesses to learn and leverage these internal relationships to further learn and lead in the Agri-Food industry as a whole.

Thinking Ahead

AgVision boasts a proud 48-year history, built on a fantastic product and an exceptional team.

Our primary strategic objective has been driving the company’s growth while delivering more advanced tools and solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Personally, I’ve always prioritized staying on the cutting edge of technology and innovation. However, working in the ERP sector has taught me the importance of focusing on reliability and accuracy. Even so, I constantly encourage our team to think creatively—not just about next year’s needs, but about what will shape the industry over the next decade.

I believe in open communication and make it a priority to ensure my team is as informed as I am about AgVision’s clients, prospects, the agriculture industry, and the company’s long-term vision. It’s important that we operate with purpose while also enjoying the journey, knowing we’re creating mission-critical solutions for our clients.

To support our team, I’ve implemented flexible work options, allowing employees to work remotely when needed. Additionally, I’ve involved the entire team in learning about the industry, engaging with our partners, and listening closely to client feedback. These efforts not only foster collaboration but also ensure we remain aligned with our mission and our clients’ expectations.

Building the Toolset

I’ve always embraced and implemented a more collaborative approach to our business. While we’ve developed a robust, all-encompassing solution, other companies have invested heavily in creating niche tools that our clients are beginning to see significant value in. To meet this demand, AgVision must focus on building out application programming interfaces (APIs) and enhancing existing integrations, providing clients with a broader, more seamless toolset.

My vision is to elevate AgVision to a position where we’re not only recognized for delivering exceptional software solutions but also as trusted industry experts driving innovation and leadership in the agricultural sector.

Client Focus

Growing up in Iowa and working in the technology space has taught me the importance of listening to clients and developing solutions that make their jobs (and lives) easier. One of the biggest challenges in today’s agricultural sector is finding skilled talent and ensuring that software remains adaptable to changing needs. Prioritizing client feedback is crucial—they often provide insights into time-saving solutions or ways to consolidate multiple tools into a single, more efficient platform.

I envision AgVision doubling its impact—growing financially, expanding our client base, and strengthening integrations and partnerships. At the same time, we’ll maintain our top-tier customer support and continue advancing our software to meet modern demands. With the resources, tools, and guidance provided by Cultura, we are well-positioned to achieve these goals.
